So for some time myself and Karina from (Karina Bud Blog) have kept in touch since our initial beauty swap in June which you can read all about HERE. I can’t quite believe how quickly time has passed but no sooner had our first swap taken place we were already planning our second. Karina was keen to try some products from Kiko which is largely only available in Europe and the USA and when they arrived it was the hardest thing not to tear the box open and swatch every single thing. Luckily for her though I didn’t and you can read the review on the bits I sent her HERE.
I’d wanted to get hold of a few things from US beauty brand Colour Pop for some time. Bizarrely they don’t ship out of the USA other than to Australia meaning luckily Karina could pick up the things I was after. She also very kindly sent me some other things for me to try…
Firstly I was really pleased to receive 5 of the Colour Shock Eye Shadows which are a great spongy cream formula. I was absolutely in love with the MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadows which have a very similar formula however only tend to get released in limited collections, so I was super pleased to get my mitts on these. The 5 shades I went for were…
LA LA – A stunning rose gold/copper tone with a tonne of shimmery metallic pigment.
Nillionaire – One of the shades which has become famous amongst Colour Pop fans is this stunning gunmetal bronze. I genuinely think this would suit anyone as it almost has a petrol like finish.
Sequin – Again a ‘famous’ Colour Pop shade this is copper at its finest. It makes for a stunning lid shade with a flick of black liquid liner.
Boy Band – A deep brown metallic which glides onto the lids and is brilliant for making an impact or for the base of a smoky eye.
So Quiche – This is a great taupe shade with lilac mauve glitter pigments. I recently wore this with MAC’s Satin Taupe eyeshadow and got so many compliments.
Next Karina was kind enough to pick me up 4 of their Lippy Stick lipsticks. These are brilliantly pigmented high voltage colours in a vast range of shades and finishes…
LBB – A true berry shade, this matte lipstick is Christmas in a tube. I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of it in the next few weeks for parties and nights out.
Frida – This is a stunning coral which I probably won’t get too much wear out of until the spring however it’s cool creamy tone would suit so many people.
Brink – The ‘Kylie Jenner’ lip this is a great nude tone even on us fair girls. It’s nice and matte and wears brilliantly for a nude lipstick.
Lumier – Probably my favourite of the four this is a mid-tone pink which looks great with a smoky eye. It’s matte and looks beautiful alone or even with a little lip balm for more of a day-time look.
Now this is a true testament to how well Karina has got to know my tastes over our last two make-up swaps. She picked me up 4 other products which I absolutely L.O.V.E!
Savvy Long Lasting Matte Lipstick in Bali
This is a stunning berry/fuchsia it’s more pink than the colour pop shade but I’ve already worn it and it’s genuinely one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks I’ve ever tried. It applies really evenly and was super creamy!
NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops Explosif
This is a great pink/mauve nude which I’ve already worn twice this week! For me it’s pretty much the perfect nude, I’ve reached for this for work on a few occasions and I’m really impressed by the balm-like feeling this leaves on the lips. I’m really keen to try more in this range!
Savvy Nourishing Lip Liner in Chestnut
This is a great nude shade which goes with so many of the lipsticks in this swap. I’ve been really liking it with Colour Pop’s Brink lipstick for a 90’s nude lip. I also think this would look great alone with a little lip balm on top for comfort.
Chi Chi Cosmetics Glamorous Bronzes Eyeshadow Palette
Very kindly Karina sent me this beautiful eyeshadow palette which is right up my alley. It’s has a really versatile range of warm bronze and shimmery shadows which really compliment the Colour Pop shades she picked up for me. I’d never heard of Chi Chi cosmetics so if you guys have any recommendations for future purchases please leave them in the comments…
Karina also sent me a really sweet card and note book which I’ve kept in my handbag, it’s so pretty and makes my supermarket shopping lists far more glamorous. As always I’d like to thank Karina for being so kind as to do this swap, she’s an brilliant blogger and though we’ve never met in person she has incredible taste in makeup and is a such a sweet and generous person so do check out her brilliant blog!
